Importing Revit files to 3dsMax

-As a quick start, I found this good example from Autodesk to learn how to import objects from Revit to 3dsMax.
At first, will probably seem difficult, but believe me it´s only a matter of practice.

Importing Revit files to 3dsMax

-Advice: always remember to mark every element that you want to be exported such as mass. Mass object usually are unmarked in the "Visibility/Graphics overrides for 3d view". (you get there by making right click on the viewport and then go to "view properties...", and left click over edit button on "Visibility/Graphics overrides" option).
One fast option to get there is typing the shortcut: "VG" .

.Dwg Autodesk´s White Paper

-Here you have a very useful link, it´s a white paper from Autodesk that explains you all about working with .dwg exported from Revit.

-Advantages of using .dwg files:
1. Non triangulated meshes.

2. You have layers (which it helps you when working on 3dsMax).
3. You have more geometry filters at the "import options" when importing on 3dsMax (also you can exclude or include layers)
4. You can link your .rvt file. (which I think is the best advantage).
-Disadvantages of using .dwg files:

1. You have a lot of blocks (which means a bigger file).

-Ventajas de utilizar archivos .dwg:

2. Tenemos layers. (lo cual nos ayuda al trabajar en 3dsMax).

So is it still more acceptable to use the dwg format versus the fbx?

Dear Friend, this afternoon I will link a video from Autodesk, which I think it´s well explained about how working with .fbx files between Revit and 3dsMax.
And also write about it´s advantages and disadvantages.
Thanks for following Revit Unleashed!.
